Fondazione ATER — Digital Experience
ATER Foundation is a publicly controlled holding foundation whose founding members are the Emilia-Romagna Region and numerous provincial capitals, as well as small and medium-sized municipalities across the region. The Foundation functions as a Regional Multidisciplinary Circuit, recognized by the Ministry with the Ministerial Decree of 1 July 2014, through programming and circulation of shows, direct management of theatrical spaces in agreement with the member municipalities, and collaboration on numerous projects and initiatives. Its activities are guided by a focus on quality, integration, expansion of the cultural offer, and the realization of economies of scale in management processes.
Designing the new website for ATER Foundation meant translating the energy of live performance into a digital space capable of connecting theatres, artists, and audiences across Emilia-Romagna.
In collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region, ATER also operates as the Entertainment Observatory, participating in studies, research, and data collection and analysis. The Foundation’s cultural mission is centered on continuously increasing the quality and multidisciplinary nature of its offerings, supporting operators and emerging creativity, fostering strong territorial connections through a network logic, establishing theatrical venues as centers of cultural production rooted in local communities, and promoting the regional entertainment system internationally to encourage collaboration and cultural exchange.
Our work on the website involved a complete redesign of the platform, combining UI/UX design, creative direction, and full-stack development. Starting from the information architecture, we crafted an experience that guides diverse audiences spectators, cultural professionals, and partner theatres through a rich ecosystem of performances, venues, and initiatives.

Beyond design, we translated this concept into a robust, scalable digital platform. Custom coding and careful attention to performance, accessibility, and usability allow the website to act as a living cultural hub, where programming, stories, and communities converge.
The visual interface mirrors the vitality and diversity of performing arts: clean layouts, clear typographic hierarchies, and flexible content structures ensure events, seasons, and cultural initiatives are presented with clarity, coherence, and strong editorial identity.
The result is a digital environment that embodies the spirit of theatre itself: dynamic, inclusive, and designed to connect people with culture, creativity, and shared experiences.
