Micro-Macro Index – Editorial Design & Art Direction
Our studio led the project from concept to completion, taking responsibility for the art direction, visual identity, editorial layout, typography, material selection, and production. Every design decision was guided by the goal of creating a publication that reflects the precision of numerical systems while maintaining a visually compelling and coherent narrative.
MICRO-MACRO INDEX is a perceptive project focused on numerical evolution systems, offering a unique perspective on culture and imagery through a dedicated editorial work. This project was conceived as both a visual and intellectual exploration, where complex systems of information are translated into a tangible, comprehensible form.
The visual identity was crafted to give the project a distinctive voice, balancing clarity, structure, and conceptual depth. In the editorial layout, typography, grids, and sequencing were carefully orchestrated to guide the reader through the material, highlighting patterns and relationships within the data while creating a rhythm and flow that enhances comprehension.
Micro-Macro Index stands as a complete editorial project where design, content, and materiality converge. It translates abstract numerical concepts into an accessible and aesthetically engaging experience, demonstrating how editorial design can give form and meaning to complex systems while inviting the reader to explore, perceive, and reflect.
Material choices played a key role in reinforcing the tactile and perceptive qualities of the publication. Paper textures, finishes, and weights were selected to emphasize the physical presence of the object, creating a sensory dialogue between the content and the reader.
