Surface – Editorial & Visual Design Direction

From the very first creative brief through each layout decision, I guided the team in shaping a visual identity and editorial framework that balances precision with expressive freedom. Every typographic choice, graphic element and compositional solution was carefully considered to ensure clarity of communication while reinforcing a sense of aesthetic coherence across the project.

As Creative Director for the SURFACES project, my intent was to conceive a visual and editorial universe that reflects both the material richness and conceptual depth of the work. The challenge was not simply to present design outputs, but to build a coherent visual language that narrates the intrinsic qualities of surfaces their textures, forms, and spatial potential through a refined editorial structure.

We treated each page and graphic component as part of a larger narrative: one that situates the concept of “surface” not just as material presence, but as a design idea with expressive force. The result is a compelling editorial experience that resonates with audiences, inviting viewers to explore and appreciate the visual and tactile qualities that define the project’s core. This approach underscores our belief that strong design is rooted in thoughtful strategy and visual clarity — turning information into an expressive, engaging journey.
